The canceled men's soccer match from Saturday October 15th has been rescheduled for Monday October 17th. The game will be a 3:00pm start and will be held at Harmony Sports Complex in Vancouver, Washington.

The Chemeketa men's soccer game scheduled for Saturday October 15th at Clark College has been postponed due to weather. We will post the information on the rescheduled match when it is finalized.

The volleyball season opened last weekend at the NWAC Fall Festival in Eugene, Oregon. The event featured 32 NWAC volleyball teams squaring off over the two day event. The Storm faced a who’s who of the 2015 season in the first weekend and showed themselves well. The first match was against Northern Idaho College who is now competing in the NWAC after leaving the Scenic West Athletic Conference, which competes at the National Junior College level. The Storm battled but fell short losing the three set match 15-25, 26-24, 7-15. The second match of the day was a two set sweep over Tacoma Community College who was the fourth place finisher at the 2015 NWAC Championships. The Storm started strong and stayed that way throughout the match winning both sets 25-16, 25-16. In the third match the Storm faced four time Defending NWAC Champions, Blue Mountain Community College. Still feeling good after the win over Tacoma, the Storm continued to roll with another two set victory winning 25-18, 25-16. In the fourth match of day one the Storm squared off against Walla Walla Community College who was tied for fifth place at last year’s NWAC Championships. With both teams battling fatigue it was a test of wills, with the Storm coming out on top. It was the third two set sweep of the day as the Storm won 25-22, 25-18. Day two featured two more quality NWAC opponents starting with Highline College who finished in the top eight at last year’s NWAC Championships. The Storm started the morning with a first set win but fell in the next two sets, dropping the first match 25-20, 22-25, 13-15. They responded from the first match defeat buy coming back with a last match sweep over Shoreline Community College who placed tied for fifth at last season’s NWAC Championships. The Storm finished the weekend event winning 25-16, 25-18, 25-21 and a weekend record of 4-2. Chemeketa will play there next match on the road with a contest at Lower Columbia College in Longview, Washington on Tuesday August 30 at 5:00 pm.

The fall sports seasons will be kicking into high gear starting August 1st. This is the first official day that NWAC fall sports programs may begin practice for the upcoming 2016-17 season. This past year saw the Storm have high levels of success both in competition and the classroom. As students, the Storm excelled with over half of it student-athletes finishing the year with over a 3.0 cumulative GPA. 11 of our sophomore student-athletes also were recognized by the NWAC for academic excellence, which required them to complete their second competition season with over a 3.25 cumulative GPA. In competition the Storm's seven programs amassed an overall 57% winning percentage. Between the programs they won 1 region championship, had 6 teams make the NWAC playoffs, and garnered 2 Region Coach of the Year awards, 2 Region Most Valuable Player awards, and had 19 student-athletes earn All Region acknowledgement. The Storm were also recognized by the NWAC as the top school for athletic success with 7 or fewer teams in the 2015-16 year by being awarded the Directors Cup. It is the second time the Storm has won this award since its inception four years ago. 2016 fall schedules have been posted to this site and rosters will be posted as soon as they are finalized by the coaches.
