Teaching Facilities
The 12,613 square foot Northwest Viticulture Center is the home of the
Vineyard Management/Winemaking Program. In addition to the vineyard
and winery, this facility includes five class/meeting rooms and a library/resource
room. One lower level classroom is dedicated to vineyard management
and winemaking classes. Its concrete floor and sink will accommodate
lab activities. It is also equipped with storage cabinets for lab
equipment and glassware and a dishwasher. One upstairs classroom
is dedicated to wine appreciation classes and is equipped with automatic
blackout curtains and specialized lighting to enhance a variety of conditions
conducive to effective wine tasting. The library/resource room includes
two computer stations; viticulture related library materials; student study
areas; and a small private meeting/work room. Near the main building
is a 1,800 square foot equipment/storage structure that houses vineyard
equipment, tools and other teaching materials.
The class/meeting rooms are also available for rent for meetings and special
occasions. In-house catering will provide meals from the facilities
full-service kitchen. Contact the events coordinator at 503.584.7272
