Inside of Learning Center

The GED (General Educational Development) test is comprised of 5 separate tests in math, social studies, reading, writing and science. The staff of the McMinnville Learning Center is available to help orient you to the process and prepare you in each of these subject areas so you can take the tests with confidence.

GED Orientation

The Learning Center offers an orientation that evaluates your academic strengths and explains the GED process. The cost is $10. Though not required, the orientation is highly recommended for new GED students. You will be given a pre-test during the orientation session to highlight areas of study that may need more attention, and the Learning Center staff will then help you determine an individualized study program. GED Preparation Classes

There are several classes available at the Learning Center for preparing for the GED, including math, essay writing and various self-paced computer-based study programs. Classes cost $35 for the term. Please call Jerry Graham at 503.472.0474 for availability.

GED Registration and Testing

GED testing is available at the McMinnville campus after attending a required registration session. Registration is by appointment only by calling Ted Gross at the McMinnville office at 503.472.9482. The complete test costs $100, payable at the time of registration, and a drivers license photo ID is required. Actual testing times for the 5 parts of the GED test vary during the term. Please call the office for details.

New GED students are recommended to first attend a free GED orientation session through the Learning Center at the McMinnville campus. Classes are also available for improving specific skills prior to taking the tests. For more information see GED Preparation Classes above.
