Strategic Intent:
Our Promises to the Community We Serve
Our world is changing, and Chemeketa Community College must change with it.
Our commitment to students must result in alternative ways of thinking about teaching and learning in years to come.
We are determined to keep our key promises as a community college throughout our entire district.
We are committed to respecting the diversity of our community, our students, and our employees.
We value and support the potential of each member of our college community.
We recognize the power of Chemeketa to strengthen the educational, ethical, cultural, and economic fabric of our district.
Therefore, Chemeketa's strategic intent must be clear.
Our mandate and desire to serve students remain strong regardless of diminished resources.
Our students' educational needs must be met regardless of the challenges we face.
And so, Chemeketa's strategic intent must be clear in order to focus our resources and our work.
Chemeketa Community College is our community's resource for quality education in a changing world, delivering opportunities for adult literacy, opening the door to all levels of college, and creating centers of excellence in technical training, workforce development, and business support.
Our strategic intent as a college is to fulfill three promises to our community:
Promise 1
We promise to actively encourage and support the achievement
of literacy and college readiness.
Promise 2
We promise to open the door to all levels of college for the
members of our community, including those who traditionally have
not been able to access a college education or whose continued
participation in post-secondary education depends on delivery here
in our three-county district.
Promise 3
We promise to create and sustain centers of excellence in technical
training, workforce development, and business support.
