- algorithm development and design
- software engineering
- information theory
- database theory
- computational complexity theory
- programming language design
- human-computer interaction
- computer programming
- computer graphics
- gaming
- artificial intelligence
Chemeketa offers a program of study that closely follows the first two years in Computer Science at most Oregon public and private universities. In most cases, students are able to complete the first two years of a Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Science at Chemeketa before transferring to a university for completion.
All of Oregon's public universities offer Bachelor of Arts and/or Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science or Software Engineering. In general, most Computer Science transfer students should combine the two-year AAOT transfer degree along with the CS transfer sequence classes which include CS160, CS161, CS162, CS260 and CS271. Transfer students will also need additional math courses commonly including MTH231, MTH251 and MTH252.
Chemeketa's Counseling and Career Services or a Chemeketa Computer Science transfer advisor can assist you in planning your first 2 years of study in Computer Science. Also, you should make early contact with an advisor at the institution to which you plan to transfer to learn of any possible changes in their academic requirements.
