Smoking and Tobacco Products Policy

Due to documented evidence of the dangers of second-hand smoke, the Chemeketa Community College Council approved new campus smoking and tobacco guidelines in May 1995. These guidelines are considered by the College Council as a positive step toward protecting employee and student health by restricting the use of tobacco products to less populated areas on campus.

The use of tobacco products (cigarettes, cigars, pipes and smokeless tobacco products) are not allowed inside buildings, within 20 feet of building entrances, or in outside areas identified as smoke-free zones by signs stating "no smoking."

Please use ash cans provided by the college to dispose smoking materials, and do not deposit smokeless tobacco residue in such places as sinks, drinking fountains and sidewalks.
