Early College High School Programs

Early College High School - Salem Campus   Chemeketa, in partnership with Salem-Keizer School District, has developed an Early College High School. Students from 9-13 grade attend classes in Building 50 as a self contained high school. These students are dually enrolled at the college and in the Early College High School. From grade 11 through grade 13, students are eligible to enroll in college courses as part of their curriculum. These courses will apply for both college and high school credit. Students must meet eligibility requirements and score appropriately on placement tests and be enrolled in the Early College High School in order to enroll in college courses. Students are required to attend pre-college orientations prior to enrollment and work with the HSP staff and advising specialists on the logistics of enrollment. Contact: Susan Murray,Minty Schmid, Paula Lisoff.

Early College High School for Other School Districts - Salem Campus   Students from school districts other than Salem-Keizer can also access the Early College classes through the Winema program. This program is a portal for students referred from local school districts. Students begin their program during their 11-13 grade. Contact: Susan Murray, Minty Schmid, Paula Lisoff.

Expanded Options (SB300) - All campuses   This program was developed in compliance with SB300, a law that allows high school students to take college classes while still enrolled in local high schools. Students take college courses based on high school graduation requirement recommendations from local counselors and on placement test scores. Students may enroll in one or more courses for which they meet college prerequisites/ requirements. School districts approve all applications for this special program so not all high school students have access. Students are required to attend pre-college orientations prior to enrollment and work with the HSP staff and advising specialists on the logistics of enrollment. Contact: Susan Murray, Paula Lisoff.

Extended Options - Salem Campus   In partnership with Dallas School District, high school students attend college classes after completing their senior year. These students enroll full time in college courses and work with the HSP and Kim Martin to develop appropriate programs. Contact: Susan Murray, Kim Martin.

Fifth Year Program - Woodburn Campus   In partnership with North Marion County School Districts (Woodburn School District and North Marion School District), high school students are able to attend college courses after completing their senior year of high school in order to make up missed credits for high school graduation, begin college course work at the developmental education level and/or to build specific skills, particularly in language development for ESL students. Students are dually enrolled at the college and referring local high schools. Students are required to attend pre-college orientations prior to enrollment and work with the HSP staff and advising specialists on the logistics of enrollment. Contact: Susan Murray, Elena Martinez, Paula Lisoff.

Scio High School-PACE - This program is similar to the Dallas model where advanced students attend college classes full time. They are mainstreamed into college classes. Contact: Susan Murray
