Continuing Education for Instructors
Chemeketa offers continuing education classes for driver education instructors every term.
- Classes taught entirely online; high speed internet, general computer knowledge and ability to meet class deadlines required.
- Upon successful completion will count as 8 hours toward your continuing education.

If you would like your Continuing Education certificate to be sent to Western Oregon University then please fill out this release form and either mail/scan/fax back to our office.
Class cost
Payment is accepted over the phone in the form of debit/credit.
- $25 for in-state instructors
- $75 for out-of-state instructors

July 15-29, 2013: "Connecting in the Classroom"
Instructor: Eric Bowman
Course Description: This course is designed to facilitate overall driver education instruction improvement. The course places an emphasis in appropriate student-teacher relationship and classroom community building. Facilitator and students (instructors) will share and experiment in the characteristics of great instruction, questioning strategies, and the 3 domains of learning.
August 12-26, 2013: "Understanding Risk"
Instructor: Rich Hanson
Course Description: Students will read and understand why we take risks. Focus will be on understanding and analyzing risk in a personal and professional aspect; and will also engage in topics related to teen brains and risk taking behaviors.
