International Invitational
Wood-fired Pottery Exhibition
Chemeketa Community College Campus Gallery
April 30 - May 22, 2007
Reception: Wednesday, May 2, noon - 2 p.m.
Wood-fired clay represents a unique process of firing that documents the flow of ash, flame, and heat through the kiln. This process, with its dramatic and subtle nuances of color on the surface of each clay form, has displayed a remarkable resurgence of interest in recent years from both potters and the general public alike. An exceptional selection of wood-fired clay pieces will be represented in this broad reaching exhibition. It will include outstanding pieces from a number of internationally recognized wood-fire masters, as well as significant work from national and regional clay artists. All will be considered to participate through the show's juried selection process.
On May 11 there will be a slide presentation and lecture by artist Frank Boyden. Building 6, Auditorium. Admission: Free
