The Arts
Artists from every field come to Chemeketa to provide an enriching element to arts classes and campus life. You may want to attend one of the many presentations or lectures by artists, authors, poets, journalists, or a drama troupe.
For a tour of some of the art on campus visit our Artwalk.
The Gallery is a significant part of the art instruction curriculum, as it provides examples to students, staff, and the community of quality works of art from regional and nationally recognized artists. Whenever possible, an opening presentation is scheduled so that you may visit with the exhibiting artist and hear about his/her ideas and techniques through discussion and/or a slide presentation.
If you're interested in acting, you may want to be involved in one of Chemeketa's drama productions put on by the theater program.
If you are a film buff then offer the Wednesday Evening Film Series, which covers retrospective and art films, and an International Film series. You can also take Film Studies classes at Chemeketa.
You may also view some self-produced videos here.
Building 45 is Chemeketa's online literary/arts journal, dedicated to showcasing and publishing the work of current and former students. This issues contain poetry, short stories, short films, and various other items of interest.
