Art Gallery: Our Foremothers. Jane Lieber Mays and Deanne Beausoleil have been asking each other the question: "What legacies have women artists left for us?" The result is their collaboration Our Foremothers. Jane, an instructor of drawing and a portrait painter has completed 25 paintings of women artists from history. These are accompanied by narratives written by Deanne Beausoleil, instructor of art history. The combination of painting, research, and writing creates a compelling study and tribute to the contributions of women to our society. Events include an evening opening from 4 pm to 7:30 pm on Thursday, 18 February and a lecture on Wednesday, 24 February by Deanne. Bldg. 3, Art Gallery.

Intercultural Movie Night: Rage Against The Machine-The Battle of Mexico City (Joe DeMaio, 2001). This is concert footage. The uprising and repression in Oaxaca in the past several months is part of the government crackdown: People are murdered by police thugs in Oaxaca, in an effort to terrorize the people who were fighting to throw a corrupt dictator out of office. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Free. Movie starts promptly at 7 pm. Multicultural Center.
We All Count, the Importance of the US Census Special Guest Dolores Huerta the co-founder and Vice President of the United Farmworkers of America. She co-founded the UFWU with Cesar Chavez in the fight for justice for the migrant farmworker and all peoples who have had their civil rights violated. She continues promoting the importance of fair treatment for people who do not feel they have a voice. Free. 7-9 pm. Bldg. 2, Student Center.
Planetarium: Islands In the Sky. Early Polynesians started colonizing Pacific islands 20,000 years ago using the stars in a way unlike Europeans. They travelled from island to island in small boats. All shows include an introduction to the seasonal constellations. Tickets may be purchased at the door at 7:15 pm. Building 2, Room 171. Admission: $4 Adults, $3 Chemeketa Students & Children.
Fresh Art. The Chemeketa Art Gallery will show art work by the children from the Chemeketa Child Development Center. Grand opening celebration will be 4 - 6 pm on March 15. This exhibit is presented by Early Childhood Education students. Free. Bldg. 3, Art Gallery.

Conveying the final twenty-four hours of Saint Joan's life—the conclusion of her trial, her conviction, and her death at the stake—The Passion of Joan of Arc is a monumental cinema landmark, famous especially for Renée Jean Falconetti’s performance as Joan. 114 minutes. The Third Man (Carol Reed, Great Britain, 1949). American novelist, Holly Martin, arrives in post-War Vienna to work for an old friend, Harry Lime. But could it be that Harry is a criminal, a war profiteer and, perhaps…dead? Now Martin's own life is in danger. Cesar Chavez Community Action Day Come to the Cesar Chavez Community Action Day to learn about resources and opportunities to volunteer in your community. Hear from speakers Rámon Ramírez of PCUN and José Romero of the César E. Chávez Boulevard Committee. Check out submissions to the Cesar Chavez Art Contest. There will be food, prizes, music and more. All are welcome. Free, but donations to the Marion Polk Food Share are encouraged. Sponsored by Chemeketa Juntos Club, Multicultural Center and MERIT. 1 - 5 pm, Bldg. 2, Multicultural Center.
