Chemeketa will offer financial aid and scholarship workshops. Bldg. 7 gym, 6-8 pm. Sponsored and coordinated by the Salem-Keizer School District. City Lights (Charles Chaplin, USA, 1931) Wealth and poverty, love and sacrifice, City Lights moves us from tears to laughter. The American Film Institute's recent survey of Best Romantic Comedies rated City Lights number 1. 87 minutes.
Unknown Chaplin: The Great Director (Kevin Brownlow and David Gill, 1983) Chaplin saved his outtakes. Utilizing this rare footage, behind-the-scenes documentary Unknown Chaplin illuminates Chaplin's determination and artistic process in making City Lights. 25 minutes. Tickets are $5. What's Next at Mid-life? Most baby boomers reject the traditional retirement models for life after 50, but few of them have taken the time to develop alternative models or plans. This workshop helps you do just that – develop your own alternative path. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cost: $120 includes class fees, morning coffee, buffet lunch and evening wine and hors d'oeuvres. Bring your spouse, partner or friend and the second registration is half price. (Both registrations must be submitted at the same time.) Call 503.399.5181 to register with Visa or MasterCard.
