Chemeketa Community College
Unique Students of Chemeketa
Constitution
- Statement of intent:
The Unique Students of Chemeketa has been formed to serve the needs of all Chemeketa students who are interested in the aspirations and concerns of the disabled.
-
Goals:
- Support Group.
The Unique Students of Chemeketa will act as a focus for the interests of students with disabilities, and specifically as a support group where problems can be aired and information shared. As part of this we will be in contact with other organizations that serve individuals with disabilities in the Salem area.
- Awareness.
By our activities we aim to increase awareness in the non-disabled part of the community of the special problems and needs of the disabled, believing that public education and understanding is the first step toward equalizing opportunities.
- Specific Projects.
As of the group’s formation, we have identified several areas in which we can work, with the expectation of adding others as they come up:
- Fund-raising for the club
- Assemble and publish a guidebook of services and facilities for disabled students.
- Creation of a booklet detailing accessibility for the disabled throughout the Salem area.
- Support Group.
- Officers:
The Unique Students of Chemeketa will elect a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, Public Relations, and at the beginning of each school year.
