Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

We are very proud of our newspaper, The Chemeketa Courier, which has won several awards from the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association. The Courier is written, edited and designed by Chemeketa students. Its news stories, features, sports and entertainment information, editorials, opinion pieces, photos, and letters to the editor, focus on the college. You may become a staff member, or you may submit an occasional piece as a contributor. If you prefer to write literary works, you may want to submit pieces for publication in Visions, a supplemental literary section to the Courier.
