Our mission is to assist people through academic, career, and life transitions, as well as to empower individuals through knowledge, career preparation, and personal effectiveness.
Advisors and counselors work closely with specific programs and transfer universities. Check the programs & specialty areas page to find a counselor or advisor connected to the program or transfer school that you are interested.
Current students can make an appointment by –

- your student ID (K#)
- use your student my.chemeketa.edu powered by Google as your return email address
- list any actions that you want taken (eg. placement test hold lifted) and the reason for the action (eg. you have college transcripts from another college).
- Future students include the following-
- information about any previous college experience
- your program of study
- your phone number
- if you are just getting started please follow the steps for new students below
- Current students include the following -
- Visit the Welcome Desk in Bldg. 2 on the Salem campus
- We mainly work by appointment and are available to meet with you in-person, by telephone or e-mail (set-up student email)
- Salem schedules may vary during peak times, please call for our current hours of availability

Appointments are usually made for 30 minute sessions, to make the most of our time together please bring any personal academic information with you (e.g. transcripts from all colleges attended, term by term plan previously completed with an advisor, placement test scores etc.)

- Assist in a smooth transfer to a four-year university or college
- Help you select your program

- Provide assistance in selecting/registering for classes
- Use the Oregon Community College viewbook for programs in Oregon
- Clarify college procedures
- Assist you in resolving academic issues
- Perform placement test/prerequisite class overrides
