College Assistance Migrant Program
The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) is a federally funded program that supports students from migrant and seasonal farmworker backgrounds during their first year in college. The program provides students with both financial assistance and support services, with the goal of preparing them to continue their education at a four-year college or university.
Eligibility Requirements
You must meet the following criteria:
- Either the student or one of his/her parents must have worked as a migrant/seasonal farmworker at least 75 days in the past 24 months. This includes any activity directly related to the production of crops, dairy products, poultry or livestock; the cultivation or harvesting of trees including nursery and forestry work; or fish farm work or be eligible to participate or have participated in (a) the Migrant Education Program (MEP) or participated in the National Farmworker Jobs Program (NFJP) of Section 167 of the WIA
- Have a high school diploma or GED certificate
- Demonstrate financial need according to federal guidelines (Must apply for FAFSA; Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
- Be in the first year of college undergraduate studies (freshman status)
- Enroll in at least 12 credits hours per term (full-time status)
- Must be a U.S Citizen or U.S Permanent Resident
To Apply:
- First, complete and submit an online application for admissions to Chemeketa Community College at applyonline.chemeketa.edu
- Second, take the college placement test (Building. 6, Room 216; 503.399.6556). We recommend you take some practice tests to prepare: Reading, Math, Writing
- Third, apply for financial aid at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Chemeketa's school code is 003218
- Fourth, complete the CAMP application and submit all required forms and documentation including the personal statement
