Alternate format services (AFS)
Requests for textbooks or any printed course material in an alternate format should be submitted 4 weeks prior to the term.
Enlarging requests should be submitted a minimum of 3 business days prior to your need.
Disability Services offers alternate format services to students with print disabilities. This means that you may be eligible to receive your textbooks in an enlarged format or as a PDF file.
How to obtain AFS
Your Accommodation Specialist will determine your eligibility. Once approved, enter the CRNs for the current term's classes into the AIM Database.
Conditions for all requests
You will need to use the AIM Database to change or cancel your requests.
You are required to purchase the textbooks, and may be asked to show proof of purchase.
If your request is submitted after the term begins, your material may begin with the assignments needed for that week.
Conditions for enlarged material
You will receive enlarged material as a PDF file unless requesting otherwise. AFS will make every effort to enlarge the print size to your preference.
Conditions for scanned material
You will be responsible for providing the book.
The binding of the book will be cut and rebound.
Disability Services is not responsible for any damage that occurs during the scanning process.
