Thank you for your interest in attending Chemeketa. All documents can be sent by fax or scanned and e-mailed if the originals are also sent by postal mail. There is no application fee.

To be admitted to Chemeketa Community College as an international student, you must be 18 years of age or older and you must be a high school graduate. In addition, you will need to complete your admissions file before the due date.

How to apply

To complete your file, follow these steps:

Step 1 - English language requirements: NO TOEFL or IELTS scores are required for admissions. Chemeketa offers comprehensive language and college level studies and can accept students at all levels.

  • All students who enter Chemeketa will take required English &/or college placement tests during orientation.
  • Test scores submitted during the admissions process are used for advising placement purposes only.
  • This process provides the student with successful class selection.
  • Contact us if you, your family, or your advisors have questions regarding our placement process

If your TOEFL score does not meet our admission requirements, you can still attend Chemeketa in our English language program, Chemeketa Language and Culture Institute.

Step 2 - Fill out and submit the International Admission Application.or you may request that one be mailed to you. There is no application fee! You must complete the entire application before we can issue the Form I-20. We will require:

  • A copy of your passport and any previous US visas
  • All required financial documents

If you are transferring to Chemeketa from another U.S. college or university, also fill out the International Student Transfer Form . Submit a transcript and a copy of your I-94 and I-20 from current school.

You will be notified of your admission status by mail after your application is received and verified by the International Admissions Office. When you are notified of your acceptance, you will also be given
dates for arrival and orientation. Registration and payment for the first term's tuition and fees happens at orientation.

Step 3 - When you receive the letter of acceptance and Form I-20 from Chemeketa, you will then need to pay the SEVIS fee. After this, go to the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate to apply for a student visa.

Step 4 - Make travel arrangements and contact Chemeketa for arrival instructions.
