Students receiving Chapter 30, Chapter 1606, Chapter 1607 and VRAP benefits must verify enrollment with the VA beginning the last calendar day of each month they are enrolled and receiving benefits. You can verify enrollment either by calling the VA's toll-free Interactive Voice Response (IVR) phone system at 1.877.823.2378 or by logging onto the VA's W.A.V.E. (Web Automated Verification of Enrollment) website. Since both W.A.V.E. and the phone system are automated, it does not matter if the last calendar day of the month falls on a weekend or holiday.
First time W.A.V.E. users should use the First Time Users log in instructions option and must establish a W.A.V.E. account before they can use W.A.V.E. to verify their enrollment. Students receiving Chapter 30, Chapter 1606 and Chapter 1607 benefits who do not verify their enrollment using one of these methods will not receive their monthly benefit payments. The WAVE and IVR systems require at least three working days to process and update the Benefit Delivery Network. Both systems process data each workday, but it sometimes takes additional time before they are updated to reflect the new information. Students using direct deposit can expect an electronic funds transfer 3 - 5 days after they complete verification. Students not using direct deposit can expect to receive a check 7 - 10 days after they complete verification.
