Testing Services

Chemeketa Community College administers a variety of exams to students, prospective students and community members.

You are required to show a valid photo ID each time you test.

Testing at the Salem Campus

The Salem campus administers numerous exams, including but not limited to –

Spring 2015 School Closure & Non Testing Days:

*Cell phones, backpacks, laptops or any other electronic items are not allowed in the testing room. If you show up for testing with any of these items, you will be asked to store them outside of the testing room.

Placement Testing - no appointment necessary
Bldg. 6, Rm. 216

(Please note: Testers who are taking the placement test for another institution or are taking it for an apprenticeship, there is a $25 dollar proctoring fee, payable by either exact cash or by check when you arrive.)

It is important to practice your math, reading and writing skills so you can place into the course that fits your skill level. Taking time to prepare for your placement test may help you place into a higher level course and save you time and money.

Placement Testing Hours - Salem Campus

Monday 10 am - 5 pm (Must begin before 3 pm)
Tuesday 10 am - 8 pm (Must begin before 6 pm)
Wednesday 10 am - 5 pm (Must begin before 3 pm)
Thursday 10 am - 5 pm (Must begin before 3 pm)

Testing at a community location

All community locations offer placement testing, though availability of exams may be limited. Please contact the specific location where you wish to test for schedule and procedures –

General Testing - appointment required

  • Paper testing is scheduled on the half hour (9:30 am, 10:30am etc.)
  • Computer testing is scheduled on the hour (9:00 am, 10:00 am etc.)

Please note that the deadline for scheduling appointments is 4 pm, the previous business day.
