All new students seeking a certificate or degree from Chemeketa are required to take the placement test or submit a placement test waiver. We offer tests administered on computers or on paper –
- COMPASS is the computer-based placement test
- ASSET is a paper/pencil version of the placement test. It is an alternative to the computerized test
To take the test, you should –
- Submit an admission application (processing time is 2-3 business days)
- Bring photo ID and a Chemeketa ID number (K#)
Salem Campus Testing
Walk-in testing is available year-round (except holidays and college closure days), Monday – Thursday in Building 6, Room 216.
Monday & Wednesday & Thursday 10am – 5pm (Must begin test before 3pm)
Tuesday 10am – 8pm (Must begin test before 5pm)
