How do I apply for a Foundation scholarship?
Working with the college Financial Aid office, the foundation has prepared a universal scholarship application form which will simplify the process for students and staff.
To Apply
- Review the requirements for each scholarship.
- You must satisfy all of a scholarship's criteria to apply for it, and you may apply for as many scholarships as you are eligible.
- Fully complete the application form (PDF) including the personal statement (PDF) and obtaining two letters of reference (PDF), unless otherwise noted, which is available from the Chemeketa Foundation Office and Financial Aid office in Bldg. 2, and outreach centers. (Get Adobe Acrobat Reader)
- Submit the application, along with any required documents and forms, to the Foundation Office by the deadline.

Availability
- Endowed scholarships are available each year.
- Annual scholarships are awarded each year the donor renews the gift.
- The number of scholarships offered, as well as the elements in each, may vary from year to year.
General Guidelines
- Foundation scholarships are for Chemeketa Community College students.
- Some scholarships have minimum grade point averages (GPA) .
- The main opportunity to apply for scholarships is during the spring for the upcoming fall term, but there will be additional application opportunities for some scholarships for fall, winter and spring terms. Watch bulletin boards in Financial Aid for additional opportunities.
Definitions
- Academic year: Generally fall through spring terms
- Full-time student: Enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours each semester
- Part-time student: Enrolled in a minimum of six hours each semester
- Hours completed: Total hours of credit earned as of most recent term
Selection
- Faculty, college staff, Foundation board members and committee members participate in the review of applications.
- Recommendations are made to the selection committees assigned to each scholarship program.
- All students meeting the application deadline will receive written notification of their award status.
Application Instructions
- You may obtain an application by contacting the Foundation Office Bldg. 2, Rm 217 or the Financial Aid office at Bldg. 2, Rm. 200, or at the outreach centers, or by downloading it. You will also need the personal statement and letter of reference forms.
