Lisa Caballero’s oil paintings capture the things we eat now, like cupcakes and donuts, with a mastery reminiscent of Velasquez. Inspired by R.P. Bonington, Dan P. Carr enlivens his small scale paintings through careful observation of color. Bobbie Jansen paints startling narrative juxtapositions of objects with a fluid handling of light, color and form in the tradition of Manet. Stylistically influenced by Nothern European masters, John Van Dreal brings iconography, symbolism–and sometimes a figure–to his rendered, still life paintings.
