Kay Bunnenberg-Boehmer

Instructor in Design

The following information is accompanied by a wink.

“I like art. I like students. I like to bring the two together and see what happens.”

Kay Bunnenberg-Boehmer received her MFA from San Francisco Art Institute. She has been teaching at Chemeketa since 1996. Prior to that, she spent many years studying in Tibet. Early in her art career she worked in the music industry, completing album covers for Leif Garret and Supertramp. In the 90-s she worked alongside Jeff Koons and developed her own series of sculptures based on everyday and even kitch objects. Pink Nail Clipper and Baked Beans on Visa are two well known works. Her current video work has astounded millions on You Tube and is held in the collections of several film actors such as Nicholas Cage and Jodie Foster. An upcoming fate accompli, her design for the Hall of Athletes for the Beijing Olympics,  will only add to her success.
