Recommended Transfer Classes

For general education transfer students who are fulfilling Humanities and Communication electives for the Associates of Art Oregon Transfer Degree (AAOT) or the Oregon Transfer Module (OTM), art classes satisfy "Arts and Letters" requirements. All course numbers starting in ART, such as ART281, are eligible . See our list of classes for choices.

For the future art major, becoming "major ready" means building strong foundation art skills at Chemeketa while also fulfilling required academic courses. We recommend deciding on and then learning about your transfer college of choice as soon as you can in your education.

We also recommend speaking with an academic advisor at Chemeketa to develop a successful term by term plan (Check out MyGamePlan in My Chemeketa. More info below). All four-year institutions which offer a Bachelor of Art in Art or a Bachelor of Fine Arts should transfer the foundation art course at Chemeketa. These include:

• ART 101 Understanding Art
• ART 131 Introduction to Drawing 1
• ART 115 Basic Design (2-D black and white focus)
• ART 116 Basic Design (2-D color focus)
• ART 117 Basic Design (3-D focus)
• ART 204, 205, 206 Introduction to Art History

200 level classes often transfer as lower division art electives.
