Dental Assisting Program
Fall 2007 Application Information
The Dental Assisting Program is a 9-month, full-time limited enrollment certificate program that admits 30 students in the fall term only. It is highly recommended that students make an appointment with a counselor/advisor in the Counseling and Career Services Center (Bldg. 2).
Process to apply for admission to the Dental Assisting Program
Submit the following materials as a packet to the Admissions window in Building 2, including:
- A copy of your High School Diploma or GED
- Any transcripts from another college/university (unofficial transcripts are accepted). Official transcript evaluations may take up to 6 months.
- Dental Assisting Program Application Form
- Current College Admission Application Form
- Documentation of healthcare-related experience (see Dental Assisting Application Scoring Sheet for details)
Note: All courses must be completed with a 'C' grade or higher by the end of spring term, 2007.
Important: You are not an applicant to the Dental Assisting Program until you have submitted an application packet that includes all items listed above. You may submit an application packet before you have taken all the required prerequisites. The receipt you receive from admissions is proof of your application submission.
Application packets will be accepted from Monday, January 15 through Friday, June 22, 2007. Any application packets received after June 22, 2007 will not be considered. Applicants will be notified by Admissions of their status in early July by mail. It is important that you notify Admissions if you have changed your mailing address.
Students who accept an offer of Program Admission must attend a 3-hour program orientation on Thursday, August 16, 2007 from 9 a.m. - noon. Students will be notified by mail of the location of the orientation.
