Immunizations & Asbestos PlanImmunizationsThe Oregon immunization law requires all children entering school for the first time to have at least one dose of each of the following vaccines: polio, measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria/tetanus, hepatitis B, HIB, Varicella or notation that your child has had the Chicken Pox. If the parent does not present evidence of these immunizations, or a medical exemption signed by a physician or by the county health department, or a religious exemption signed by the parent, the child will not be allowed to attend school. Children born in certain countries outside of the United States are required to have a TB clearance reading (a separate form is available at the Child Development Center for this report). Children who are not in compliance with the immunization law will be notified regarding the immunizations they need and the date after which they will not be allowed to attend school (without evidence of having received the immunizations). You will receive an immunization form to be filled out prior to your child's first day of school. This will be kept on file at the center. To view the current immunization requirements by grade level please go to following website: http://health.co.marion.or.us/ph/Immunication/ImmunSchedule.htm. Asbestos PlanOur school is registered with the Department of Education as a private school providing Kindergarten. The Department of Education requires us to follow certain rules due to our registering with them. One of the rules we must comply with is to have an asbestos inspection done at our school. If asbestos is found in the building we are to develop an asbestos plan. Samples were taken from various location in our building where asbestos was suspected. A report has been sent to the EPA and an asbestos plan has been developed. If you would like to read the complete report it is available for you to look at in the directors office. (April 1998) |
