Parent Information
- Each child needs an extra change of clothing to remain at the
center. Daily each child needs a heavy jacket, cap or hood, mittens,
and boots.
- Please label all clothing with your child's first and last
name. Return any clothing labeled C.D.C. to the center.
- Sign your child in and out daily on the sign-in sheets located
in the classrooms. Indicate time of arrival and departure,
initialed by the person taking the child home.
- Children need to arrive and be ready to participate by 9 a.m.
Morning-only children must be picked up by 12:30 p.m.
- Upon arrival, please wait for your child to be seen by a staff
member each day. If there are signs of illness, you will need
to take the child home with you or make other arrangements. If
your child is not well enough to play outdoors and take part in
the regular school routine, he/she is not well enough to be at
school.
- Notify the center as soon as possible if your child will be absent
for the day. Center phone number: 503.399.5107. The center opens
at 7:30 a.m. From 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. and from 5:00 - 5:15 p.m. there
will be space available for six children only, due to teacher ratios.
Reservations are necessary to use this time. Please
call the center to reserve a space. After 8 a.m., non-reservation
children may arrive.
- Notify the staff if anyone other than the parent is to pick
up your child. We must have your prior written authorization for
this.
- Notify the center of any changes in class schedules, home situation,
telephone number, address, or any other information that is pertinent
to your child. All children need emergency forms for the current
year.
- Please have your child leave candy, gum, money, food, toys,
etc., at home. Children may bring a favorite naptime article; i.e.,
pillow, blanket, animal: we discourage bringing other toys.
- Please dress your child in clothing that is appropriate for
indoor and outdoor play as well as for art activities. Clothing
should allow your child freedom of movement and freedom of worry
for you. Children will be participating in activities with paint,
glue, dirt, water, etc., so please dress your child accordingly.
- Please make regular (weekly) checks of your child's cubby,
picture file, and parent mailboxes for things to take home.
- The center will close at 5 p.m. When picking up your child
for departure, please allow enough time for your child to clean
up and put away materials he/she has been using.
- Billing forms are to be picked up at the beginning of the month
from your parent mailbox. Your bill may be paid at the Business Services/Enrollment
Center (Bldg. 2) or mailed to them. Childcare bills must be paid by
the 15th of each month; (i.e., you are billed for October at the beginning
of October, so payment is due no later than October 15). Payments
made after the 15th will be assessed a $25 late fee.
- A morning and afternoon snack are provided
daily at the center. Families are responsible to pack a nutritious
lunch for their child each day following the guidelines provided
on pages 23 - 26 of the handbook. It
is important that lunches are labeled with your
child's name.
- Cleaning products used in the building have
been approved by the Risk Management dept. at Chemeketa. It
becomes the parent's responsibility to be aware of these
products if they have concerns.
