In addition to training entry-level employees, the Electronics department at Chemeketa Community College provides other services to industry, government, and other organizations.

Job Announcements

Job announcements can be posted and announced to current students by e-mailing or calling the program chair at 503.399.6254. They can also be submitted for public searches by contacting the Chemeketa Career Center.

Contract training

The Electronics department contracts with industry and other organizations to do customized training in electronics. The department will also contract to evaluate the training needs of a company and help them develop in-house training programs.

Cooperative Work Experience (CWE)

Part of a student’s learning experience can be actual work experience. Students as well as companies have told us how much they benefit from the CWE program. Organizations especially like the concept of having extra technical help, especially for those projects they never have time to complete. Organizations see CWE as a great screening process for perspective employees. They have no commitment to hire a CWE student; however, if a student is a good worker and a position becomes available they can offer them a position with confidence. Not only do they get a good employee, but they get an employee that already knows about their company and its procedures.
