StoriesIf English is not your native language and you wish to improve your ability to understand, speak, read, or write in English, Chemeketa offers non-credit day and evening ESOL classes, as well as day and evening English as a Non-Native Language (ENL) classes, which earn college credit. ESOL classes are 6-12 hours per week for beginning to advanced levels in reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, pronunciation, Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) preparation, and technology. In addition to classes, ESOL students have access to workshops, advising, and language and computer labs. There is a per term fee to take non-credit classes. You must register and pay the fee upon registration each term. Students wanting ESOL classes should contact the ESOL Program Office at 503.399.6298 for information on the required orientation class.
Costs for non-credit ESOL classes are as follows (books are extra):
0 – 6 Classroom Hours Per Week: $50
7 – 12 Classroom Hours Per Week: $75
13+ Classroom Hours Per Week: $85
