Health Information Management
Are you interested in a career in the medical field, but don't want to give injections? Do you enjoy working with people? Can you see yourself doing the administrative function of health care? Are you excited about helping to move health care into the electronic age?
Health Information Management (HIM) may be just for you.
HIM is the administrative side of health care which includes working with patients, computers, and doctors. It requires an understanding of medical information, and an interest in providing quality health care to others. As the country moves toward electronic health information, jobs in this exciting area will be expanding to meet the ever increasing need for medical administrative professionals. You may wish to pursue a supervisory role in health care. Obtaining an AAS degree in HIM broadens your career opportunities for any administrative position regardless of whether or not you are interested in a supervisory role in health care.
