Taylor A. Marrow III was born and raised in Princeton, New Jersey. Since graduating from high school he has lived all over the country. The high school Marrow attended in Princeton was ranked number one in the state and number five in the nation upon graduation in 1990. His experiences growing up Princeton gave him an appreciation for education, as well as its importance to success in this country. Similar to most students at Chemeketa, Marrow began his post secondary education at the community college level. He was a nontraditional student, since he went to college six years after graduating from high school; this experience gave him the desire to succeed. Marrow began attending community college at Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) in Jamestown, North Carolina. At GTCC, he earned enough credits to transfer to Indiana University. While attending IU, he earned a BA with a double major in History and Telecommunications.

After taking a year off from college, Marrow moved to Muncie, Indiana, for graduate school at Ball State University. There he earned an MA in History with a concentration in 20th century US history, and a minor in interwar Europe. The focus of his research in US history is race relations and the black freedom struggle. In the fall of 2004 Marrow's first book was published and it is entitled, Reconciling the Past: A Brief History of Race Relations in Muncie Indiana. The history of race relations in the US is a major passion of his, and he believes that it is one the most important historical themes in the history of the United States. Currently Marrow is married with two children.
