Management
What is required to be a manager?
- A desire for challenging work. Can you work under pressure to meet deadlines? Can you handle multiple tasks and responsibilities? Classes in Personal Effectiveness, Human Relations in Business and Teamwork Dynamics will teach you how to successfully meet the challenges you encounter on the job.
- Ability to work with computers. Do you have a working knowledge or the Internet, word processing, spreadsheets and accounting software? If not, we will provide the computer training that you need. Chemeketa has a computer lab dedicated to accounting and management classes, and students take at least four computer classes and receive computer-based assignments in other courses.
- Good team-building and personal relationship skills. Do you maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality? Do you work well with others and are you an effective communicator? Are you trustworthy? Management students take classes in Personal Effectiveness, Human Relations in Business, Teamwork Dynamics, Speech and Writing to improve their skills in working with others.
- Reliability and organizational skills. Are you an effective problem solver? Are you well-organized? These skills are important throughout the business world and are emphasized in the accounting and business courses at Chemeketa.
