Basic Nurse Assistant
The Basic Nurse Assistant course is normally offered every term (summer, fall, winter, and spring) as a night class 3 nights per week from 4 - 9:30 p.m.
The current cost is $825 for tuition and fee, $25 for a national criminal background check,$20 for a potential required drug test, and approximately $55 for books. The Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) test to become certified is apx. $100 and the fingerprinting for OSBN is $52. Each student is also responsible for purchasing a scrub uniform.
The next available course begins winter term, January 5, 2009, and applications will became available in Building 2, Career and Counseling Center beginning November 24, 2008. Students are welcome to go the Oregon State Board of Nursing website at www.osbn.state.or.us as well to find a listing of all the BNA courses offered in the state.
Beginning in winter, 2009, prerequisites will include completion of RD090 or placement into RD115 using Chemeketa's placement test. Students are required to have a clean criminal history, reliable transportation, and a commitment to being at every class session.
