Application
You may enter into the SLPA program either as a candidate for a Certificate of Completion or an Associate of Applied Science Degree (AAS). There is no preference for one type of candidate over the other.
In order to apply to the SLPA program, candidates must download and complete the appropriate application below ( AAS degree or Certificate of Completion). This application is for the SLPA program. Students must also complete a Admission Application for Chemeketa Community College in order to be accepted as a student at Chemeketa.
Applications:
Applications are accepted year round. Application deadlines are February 1 and July 15th of each academic year. Students who are accepted in the February 1 cohort will begin coursework during Spring term. Students accepted in the July 15th cohort will begin coursework Fall term. Students must be accepted in the SLPA program in order to take program coursework.
Applications are not reviewed until each application deadline ( February 1 or July 15 ). All applications are considered equally as long as they are received by the application due date.
There will not be preferential consideration for applications submitted prior to the application due date. Acceptance into the SLPA program is competitve and utilizes a point system to rank applications.
Once the SLPA program student slots are filled, a waiting list will be created. In the event that an accepted candidate decides not to attend the SLPA program for that cohort, we will select the top student from the waiting list and proceed in this manner until all SLPA program slots are filled.
The SLPA program will send applicants an email confirming receipt of their application. Applicants who apply by the February 1 deadline will generally receive notice of their acceptance on or around February 15th. Applicants who apply by the July 15th deadline will generally receive notice of their acceptance on or around August 1. Please do not call to check on the status of your application until after February 15 or August 1. Acceptance information will not be released early to prospective candidates.
