State Certification

Certification Requirements

In the state of Oregon, Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) are certified through the Oregon State Board of Examiners in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology.

Certification Requirements include:

• Transcripts showing 45 quarter hours or 30 semester hours of speech-language pathology technical coursework
• Transcripts showing 45 quarter hours or 30 semester hours of general education credit
• Written evidence of 100 clock hours of clinical interaction

After you connect to the Oregon State Board of Examiner's Web site find the "Rules/Statutes" link. From there, choose the "Oregon State Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathology and Audiology" link. Choose "Division 95" for Speech Language Pathology Assistant information.
