Chemeketa Scholars

Terms and conditions

Chemeketa Scholars scholarships are available to all local high school graduates with a cumulative, unweighted 3.5 GPA or greater (as of 7th semester grades) who come directly to Chemeketa following graduation. Students enrolling in 12 or more credits per term are guaranteed a full tuition scholarship for two years, provided they maintain a minimum 3.25 GPA and continuous enrollment during their time at Chemeketa.

GPA’s for continuing students will be calculated annually following spring term to determine eligibility for the 2nd year of the scholars program. The minimum 3.25 GPA will be strictly adhered to, and there will be no appeal process for students who originally qualify but whose GPA later drops below the 3.25 threshold.

In order to qualify for this scholarship opportunity, students would need to enter Chemeketa summer or fall term immediately following their high school graduation. A Chemeketa Scholars application will require a high school transcript showing the required GPA through the first half of a student's final year of high school. Students will be encouraged to complete a financial aid application (FAFSA) as well.

This program is only open to students who are graduating this year from a public, private or alternative high school located within the Chemeketa service district.

Newly discharged military veterans are eligible for this program as long as they graduated from a district high school with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better, entered the military immediately after high school, and enroll at Chemeketa within six months of military discharge.

This program is not available to students on an international student visa.

This program is not available to home-schooled students.

Other Considerations

Chemeketa Scholars who commit to the college by May 9 will be eligible for an early orientation program guaranteeing early fall registration during spring term.

Scholarship presentations will be made during graduation or honors ceremonies at area high schools each spring. A banquet for scholars and their parents will be held in September.

Financial aid will be available to those students who apply and qualify with additional demonstrated financial need.
