Placement Testing - COMPASS

All new students seeking a certificate or degree from Chemeketa are required to take the placement test or submit a placement test waiver.

Information about COMPASS placement testing:

• Administered on the computer.
• Includes Writing, Reading and Math.
• You receive the scores immediately after testing.
• Most students finish within two hours, but you should allow up to 60 minutes for each portion of the test.

To take the test, you should:

• Submit an admission application (processing time is 2-3 business days)
• Know your Chemeketa ID number (K#)

All placement testing requires photo ID and a Chemeketa ID number (K#).

Salem Campus Testing

Walk-in testing is available year-round (except holidays and college closure days), Monday - Thursday in Building 6, Room 216.

Monday & Wednesday, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Tuesday & Thursday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Testing is also available by appointment.

Outreach Campuses

Testing is available by appointment only. Call the campus to schedule.
