Student Responsibilities

When you register for a class, you agree to pay for it and you will be responsible for all charges and any grade you receive, whether or not you attend.

You are responsible for full payment of all charges on your account even if another party is paying. If you cannot make payment arrangements you are responsible for dropping your classes by the drop with refund deadline.

You will not be dropped from your classes for nonpayment.

Refund Policy

College cancels a class: you will get a full refund of tuition and fees.

You drop a class that meets for the entire term by the end of Friday, October 9, 2009; you will receive a refund of tuition and fees as long as you have no outstanding debts.

Less than full-term classes: These classes have a shorter refund period. Review the specific course drop deadlines on-line in the searchable class schedule.

You will not receive a refund or credit toward another class for any classes dropped after the end of the refund period.

Refunds for classes paid by Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card, or American Express will be credited back to the credit card.

Refunds are not issued for amounts under $5.

Changes in the number of hours for which you are registered may affect your financial aid, agency or veteran's benefits.

Late Fees

Late fees will be assessed on unpaid balances as follows:

Fall Term:

$25 – Ten (10) days after registration
$25 – Friday, November 6, 2009
$25 – Friday, December 4, 2009

The maximum late fee per term is $75.

Failure to pay
A past due account may result in denial of future college services including registration, withholding of transcripts, denial of future credit, impairment of credit history, and additional assessment of collection charges and attorney fees.

Installment Plan

You may pay tuition and class fees in two payments/installments by completing & submitting a 50/50 Deferred Tuition Installment Plan contract with the required payment. To set up the Installment Plan you must be able to pay One-half (50%) of the total tuition and fees plus a non-refundable $15 contract fee.

Second payment due: Friday, November 13, 2009.

Late payment fees: $10 if balance unpaid by Friday, November 13, 2009.

$25 if balance unpaid on Friday, December 4.

Make sure your schedule is complete before finalizing your contract. To defer any additional tuition for added classes, you will need to pay another non-refundable $15 fee.

Visit the Enrollment Center, Building 2, second floor, Salem Campus or any Chemeketa campus for details regarding the installment plan. If the college cancels a class, you will get a full refund of tuition and fees if your account has no outstanding balances
