Student Support Services
We support low-income, first generation college students interested in transferring to a four-year school after Chemeketa. We serve 200 students per year by providing a variety of services designed to help you succeed at Chemeketa and prepare you to transfer.
What services do we provide?
The Student Support Services Program provides you a variety of educational opportunities, as well as cultural and career activities such as:
- Development of personalized College Success Plan with each participant
- Campus visits to 4-year universities
- Tuition-free classes: Orientation to College, 4-year Transition, and Planning College Finances
- Scholarship and financial aid application assistance
- A Resource Center for career exploration, a study area, and computer and internet access
- Academic, career, and personal advising
- Check out textbooks for free
- Tutoring in math, science and writing courses
- Participate in a Learning Community
Who is eligible to participate?
- Students who meet federal low-income requirements (generally meaning students who are Pell eligible)
- Students who are first-generation college students (neither parent has a Bachelors degree)
