Student Support Services

We support low-income, first generation college students interested in transferring to a four-year school after Chemeketa. We serve 200 students per year by providing a variety of services designed to help you succeed at Chemeketa and prepare you to transfer.

What services do we provide?

The Student Support Services Program provides you a variety of educational opportunities, as well as cultural and career activities such as:

• Development of personalized College Success Plan with each participant
• Campus visits to 4-year universities
• Tuition-free classes: Orientation to College, 4-year Transition, and Planning College Finances
• Scholarship and financial aid application assistance
• A Resource Center for career exploration, a study area, and computer and internet access
• Academic, career, and personal advising
• Check out textbooks for free
• Tutoring in math, science and writing courses
• Participate in a Learning Community

Who is eligible to participate?

• Students who meet federal low-income requirements (generally meaning students who are Pell eligible)
• Students who are first-generation college students (neither parent has a Bachelors degree)
