Chapter 31
The Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Program is designed to help veterans with service connected disabilities to prepare for, find and keep suitable employment. The Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Program provided a full array of services to assist, train and educate veterans with disabilities. To qualify a veteran must be evaluated and found eligible by the Veterans Administration and the Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Program will provide an evaluation for a veteran who meet the following: 1. have received, or will receive, a discharge that is other than dishonorable. 2. have a service-connected disability rating of at least 10%. 3. submit a completed application for Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Program. Time for basic eligibility period in which Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Services may be used is 12 years from the latter of date of separation from active military service or date the veteran first notified the VA of a service-connected disability rating.
