We invite you to use the Chemeketa Community College Writing Center. Chemeketa's College Writing Center offers a wide range of free support for Chemeketa students: tutoring, resources, and computer/software/printing use. It also hosts some tuition-based, for-credit workshops. Through individualized tutoring and independent use of this site, you can support your growth as a writer. Find information and resources to:

We are a free, campus-wide service staffed by writing instructors. We provide you with writing instruction and support your faculty in integrating writing into their curriculum.

We strive to help you become a more efficient writer by helping you review and edit your work. We encourage you to visit us on an ongoing basis as a means of developing your writing skills.

The Chemeketa Online Writing Center is now available to all Chemeketa students! Go to the online tutoring link for specific information.

Please drop in or contact the CWC for your writing needs. The Writing Center is now located in the Library in Building 9!  You are welcome to stop by during open hours or you may schedule an appointment by calling 503.399.7179. Our hours during the regular academic year are 8:00 - 5:00, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and 8:00 - 6:00 Tuesday and Thursday.

Both the Chemeketa Writing Center and Chemeketa Online Writing Center will close for Fall Term on December 4, 2009. 

We will reopen for Winter Term on January 11, 2010.  The CRN for the Chemeketa Online Writing Center is 57553.

The CRN for the campus writing center for Winter Term 2010 is 55489.

In addition, in Winter Term the Writing Center is offering a class called WR 091, Writing Essentials.  The CRN is 57989. This class meets weeks 4 through 9 of the term. The first class is January 27, 2010, from 3:30-4:50. No textbook required. We cover the entire process of paper writing from brainstorming to citation to three rounds of editing: grammar, structure, and clarity. This a great refresher for students.   Please register now!

Writing Center orientations for courses may be scheduled. Bring your class to the CWC or ask us to visit your class to introduce the facility, present a workshop on topics such as thesis statements, avoiding plagiarism, and more. We can work with a whole class, with small groups, and of course, with individual students. Online consultations with instructors and resources for professional/technical fields will be available soon.
