Register Early for Fall Term

Continuing students at Chemeketa Community College may register in the spring for their fall term classes.

Registration will begin at 7 a.m. on Friday, May 29, for students who have ever enrolled in courses at Chemeketa.

Students who take advantage of this early registration will not be charged tuition and fee costs until August 10. E-mails will be sent at that time to remind you that charges have been posted to your student account.

New students may register beginning Tuesday, August 11. You will need to follow the steps for new students as posted on the Getting Started page.

When can I register for fall term as a continuing student?


You may register for fall term beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday, May 29 if you are a continuing student.


How do I know if I am a “continuing” student? Am I eligible to register early?


You are a continuing student if you have ever enrolled in any course(s) at Chemeketa.


Is there a paper schedule of classes?


The fall schedule of classes is available online through a course search on My Chemeketa or on the college’s public website. A fall term paper schedule of classes will be available in early August.


When does new student registration begin?


New student registration for fall term begins at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11. You will need to follow the steps for new students as posted on the Getting Started page.


How do I find out how much my tuition and fees will cost?


Tuition and fees for fall term will not be assessed (or posted) to your student account until August 10. If you need to estimate the total cost for the term please go to the Tuition and Fees page.


When do I have to pay for classes after I register early?


Tuition and fee costs for fall term will be posted to your student account on August 10. An e-mail will be sent to your my.chemeketa.edu e-mail address with a reminder to review and pay your student account status on-line at that time. A paper invoice will be mailed to the address we have on record for you in early September. You will need to pay your account balance in full (or make payment arrangements) by September 14th in order to avoid a $25 late fee.


Can I add or drop classes?


Yes. You may add or drop courses through the second week of fall term (Friday, October 9) for full term courses (shorter courses may have different deadlines).

What are the registration hours?


Early fall registration begins at 8 a.m. Friday, May 29, for continuing students. New student registration for fall term begins at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11.


When will Financial Aid checks be available for fall term?


Financial Aid refunds for fall term will be mailed on the first day of fall term (September 28). If you are signed up for direct deposit, your funds will be available in your bank account on the first day of fall term (September 28).


When can I buy my books for fall term?


Fall term books will be available for purchase beginning August 17.


When and where can I get student ID?


You can get a student ID card at the Chemeketa Bookstore as soon as you have registered.


When can I buy a parking permit for fall term?


Fall term and annual parking permits will be available for purchase in late August.


If I register early, will I get financial aid early?


No. Financial Aid is disbursed to your account before the term begins and will be mailed to you on the first day of fall term (September 28). If you are signed up for direct deposit, your funds will be available in your bank account on the first day of fall term (September 28) if you have completed the required process.


How do I know when my classes are confirmed or cancelled?


You can review your course schedule online at My Chemeketa. Select the “Display Your Schedule” to confirm that all of your classes have been successfully registered. If you choose to drop courses, you may also display your current schedule in the Add/Drop Courses portion of the Student Services, Registration and Schedule Menu online.


Are English as a Second Language (ESL) and ABE (Adult Basic Education)/GED students considered continuing students?


Yes. You are considered a continuing student if you have ever been enrolled in any Chemeketa course.


If I decide not to attend, what is the last day I can drop (without responsibility for payment)?


For full term courses, the last day to drop with a refund is Friday, October 9.


Do you have a deferred tuition option?


Yes. Your tuition and fees for fall term will only be assessed (or posted) to your student account on August 10. Once charges are posted to your account you will need to make payment arrangements. You may pay in two installments by submitting a completed Installment Plan (50/50 Deferred Tuition Plan) contract with the required payment. One-half of the amount plus a non-refundable $15 contract fee are due by September 14 (for those who registered early), or 10 days after registration.
The second payment is due Friday, November 13.


I don’t see that I owe anything but I registered for fall term. Why are there no charges posted to my account?


Tuition and fee costs for fall term will be posted to your student account on August 10. If you are registered by that date an e-mail will be sent to your cp.chemeketa.edu e-mail address with a reminder to review and pay your student account status on-line at that time. A paper invoice will be mailed to the address we have on record for you in early September. You will need to pay your account balance in full (or make payment arrangements) by September 14 in order to avoid a $25 late fee.


Will I get charged late fees for non-payment?


If you register early for fall term your tuition and fees will be posted to your account on August 10. You will need to pay your account balance in full, or make payment arrangements, by September 14 to avoid a $25 late fee.
Additional late fees of $25 each will apply to your account if unpaid as of November 6 and December 4.


How do I register if I have a hold on my account?


In order to register early for fall term you must make sure your account has no holds. You can check your account holds by selecting the “See Account Holds” shortcut on My Chemeketa. Follow directions listed with each hold type to make sure that hold is cleared before attempting to register.


Can I register if I still owe for a prior term? How about if I owe for summer term?


If you owe the college tuition, fees or other charges for a prior term you will not be able to register. Be sure to pay off the account balance in full early to clear any financial holds. You can review your account holds online at My Chemeketa. If you have registered for summer term 2009 and owe a balance on your account, your account will not be placed on hold until July 7.


Will I receive an invoice for fall term charges? When?

What if I decide not to attend fall term and I’ve already registered?


You will not be dropped for non-payment of your account. Therefore, it is important that you drop all of your courses before the deadline of Friday, October 9, in order to receive a refund or credit on your student account. If you choose not to attend Chemeketa after you have registered, be sure to complete the drop process as soon as possible (before the deadline).
