Parent, Partner & Family Online Orientation

Welcome to Chemeketa Community College’s orientation for parents, partners and families of new Chemeketa students. As a family member of a new Chemeketa student, you may have many questions regarding what your student will be experiencing and how you can support them in their academic and social advancement.

FamilyConnect consists of six sections that are designed to aid you and your student in the transitions that will soon take place in your lives. This orientation may help you understand the college culture and the expectations we place on our students. It also provides information on financial matters, services and opportunities available to you and the student, and helpful tips for easing the transition to college.

The transition will be different for a parent of a college student than that of a spouse or partner of a college student. For this reason, FamilyConnect will provide information that is specific to your support role.
