Applying for a Job at Chemeketa

If you find a position listed on the web site that interests you, check the requirements for applying carefully. Requirements for applying vary from job to job. All jobs require you to complete an application. You may print a copy of the application from your computer or you may ask the Human Resources Department to mail the form to you.

Only completed application materials submitted by the application deadline will be accepted and considered for the position. The job vacancy announcement will tell you the requirements needed to make your application complete. Completed application materials will not be returned.

Applications should be submitted to:

Human Resources Department
Chemeketa Community College
P.O. Box 14007
4000 Lancaster Drive NE
Salem, OR 97309

How to Get Your Application Noticed
Here are some hints on how to complete your application and submit accompanying materials to the college.

Application Form (PDF) or Application Form (MS Word)
You can either ask that the college mail the application form to you or you can download, complete and mail it from home. You may choose to e-mail or mail your application to the Human Resources office.

If your computer is not set up for reading a PDF file, here is how to get a free copy of the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Screening and Hiring

A committee conducts the written screening, interviews, and reference checks for all salaried position openings. Applicants who do not meet the minimum qualifications will be notified as soon as possible that they are not eligible to advance in the hiring process.

The interview committee recommends a list of finalists to the appropriate administration who may conduct a second interview. Finalists will be interviewed on campus and contacted between 10 days and three weeks following the closing date. If you are selected for the position, you will be notified by phone.

Hourly, part-time/temporary positions and adjunct faculty are usually screened and selected by the department personnel rather than through the screening committee process.

Employment is contingent upon eligibility to work in the United States.

If you need special accommodations throughout the application or interview process, please contact the Human Resources Department.

You may reach the Human Resources Department by e-mail at humanresources@chemeketa.edu, or you may call us at 503.399.5009. Our office is located in Bldg. 2, Rm. 214, on the Salem Campus.

Chemeketa Community College is an equal opportunity institution, values diversity in its workforce, and is committed to affirmative action. We encourage minorities, women, and persons with disabilities to apply. Chemeketa Community College is a smoke-free/drug-free work environment.
