Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Biological Sciences, Pharmacy or Pharmacology
- Three years recent work experience in a pharmacy setting
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree (or higher) from an accredited institution in Pharmacy, Pharmacology, or Pharmaceutical Sciences
- Registered Pharmacist (RPh), or Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential
- One year experience in teaching Pharmacy/Pharmacology in community college or university setting
- Experience in using computers (technology) in teaching. Demonstrated ability or desire to work with culturally, linguistically, and economically diverse students and communities
- Bi-Lingual/Bi-Cultural
Essential Functions
- Embraces appropriate technology tools to accomplish job functions; understands and utilizes available technology as communication and data gathering tools
- Understands and actively collaborates effectively with a variety of students, staff, and the public from diverse cultural, social, economic, and educational backgrounds
- Meets all scheduled classes - day, evening, and possibly weekend
- Teaches classes as assigned, following approved course outline
- Provides students with course syllabi
- Maintains records of grades and attendance, reports individual academic grades when required
- Maintains college facilities and equipment
- May participate in curriculum development; may recommend course outline revisions
- May recommend textbooks and other instructional materials and equipment; may recommend library reference material
- Keeps up to date on technological changes and developments in subject area
- Communicates in a timely manner with students and department personnel
- Promotes and applies the College's values for teaching and learning
