Qualifications
- Level 1 - ITP Graduate or 0 - 2 years experience
- Level 2 - RID Written or BA Degree; and 2 + years experience
- Level 3 - CI & CT or NAD III or Master's Degree; and 2 + experience
- Level 4 - CI & CT or NAD IV; and 2 + years experience
- Level 5 - CI & CT for 5 years or NAD V; BA/BS degree required
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years documented interpreting experience in a post-secondary setting
- RID and/or NAD certificate
Essential Functions
- Interprets/transliterates sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign in classroom and various situations outside the classroom
- Assesses consumer language needs to determine optimal language equivalence
- Using consumer and colleague feedback, assess effectiveness of interpretation and adjust accordingly
- Maintain professional standards set out in the Registry of Interpreter for the Deaf (RID) Code of Ethics
- Adhere to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and other college policies
- Performs other related duties as assigned
