Terms of Employment
This is a full-time, 12-month Exempt/Administrative position; Continuation of this position is dependent on the funding that supports the position.
Successful applicant must pass inquiry which may include but is not limited to criminal, driving, and credit check; only information relevant to the position will be considered.
Salary and Benefits
Dependent upon salary history and comparable experience.

Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Five years management and leadership experience that includes
- Fund raising and donor development
- Reporting to high-level executive, executive board, or equivalent
- Oral presentations
- Excellent written communication skills
- Knowledge of philanthropic research and donor analysis
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution
- Seven or more years experience as an Executive Director or the equivalent that, in addition to the experience listed above, includes the following:
- Directing annual, capital or endowment campaigns
- Budget development, fiscal management, and appropriate software applications
- Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE)
- Commitment to collaborative decision-making and management
- Commitment to the mission and goals of a comprehensive community college
Essential Functions
This position reports to the College president and works closely with the Chemeketa Foundation. The essential functions are:
I. Fund raising (60%)
- Recommends and, upon approval, implements a strategic plan that seeks to increase the number of major gift donors and enlarge the donor base and endowment of the Foundation. Furthermore, this plan should align with the College Statement of Strategic Intent, and include a communications plan
- Identifies, develops, and pursues opportunities for individuals, businesses, and foundations to become donors
- Makes public presentations on behalf of the College and Foundation
II. Board/Foundation Development (25%)
- Identifies potential nominees for membership on the Foundation Board
- Increases Foundation Board engagement in fund raising, planning, and implementation activities
- Coordinates training for the Foundation on appropriate topics
III. Administrative (15%)
- Manages operations of the Foundation, including supervision of Foundation employees and coordination of Board meetings
- Maintains records of contacts, referrals, and results related to solicitation of gifts and donations; prepares reports on activities
- Evaluates proposed donations and recommends acceptance or denial according to foundation policies
- Provides the Board with information on finances, fund raising, donors, and operations as requested
- Prepares an annual budget for approval
