Terms of Employment
100 percent, 180 day academic year assignment.
Teaching assignment may include evening and week-end courses and the use of non-traditional delivery methodologies, .e.g. telecourses, cable television and on-line/internet courses. Duty days may fluctuate from the traditional September-June schedule. Recently hired faculty are expected to participate in a new faculty orientation program.

Faculty salary schedule; competitive based on education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications
MS in nursing from an accredited institution OR BSN and MS in related field with Oregon State Board Nursing approval OR BSN and current enrollment in an MS in nursing. Nursing experience in acute medical/surgical or mental health within the past five years. Current unencumbered Oregon RN license (or eligible for Oregon Licensure).
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution. Teaching experience in a Nursing Education program within the last five years. Nursing experience in acute medical/surgical or mental health within the past three years. Demonstrated ability or desire to work with culturally, linguistically, and economically diverse students and communities.
Essential Functions
- Meets all scheduled and special classes-day, evening and week-end
- Teaches classes as assigned, following approved course outline
- Prepares and develops materials for assigned classes
- Posts and maintains office hours
- Provides students with course syllabi
- Maintains records of grades and attendance; reports individual academic grades when required
- Maintains college facilities and equipment
- Participates in curriculum development; recommends course outline revisions
- Recommends textbooks and other instructional materials and equipment; recommends library and reference materials
- Contributes suggestions for annual department budget
- Keeps up to date on technological changes and developments in subject area
- Attends staff meetings and participates in designated committee work; represents the department at pertinent meetings as required
- Works in a cooperative manner with other people in the department and college
- Communicates in a timely manner with students and department personnel
- Assists with academic advising and registration; recruits students as appropriate
- Promotes positive image of college and college programs
- Develops and maintains contacts with community and professional organizations
- Assists Advisory Committee as needed
- Embraces appropriate technology tools to accomplish job functions; understands and utilizes available technology as communication and data gathering tools and integrates technology into curriculum and classroom presentations
- Understands, develops, and provides a learning environment that supports diversity and incorporates a sensitivity to diversity into the workplace
- Functions as a life-long learner
