Equal Opportunity Compliance

Equal Opportunity Commission

The Equal Opportunity Commission is responsible for making sure that federally funded programs such as the one-stop partners and contract recipients are not discriminating in their facilities, program services or hiring practices.  It is monitored by the Methods of Administration Division of the Oregon Employment Department. Contact information for the coordinator and state officer should be posted in all centers.  For more information visit the website above.

Oregon ADA Compliance

For clarification or training assistance on issues regarding compliance to the Americans with Disabilities Act, call the Department of Justice's ADA Info Line at (800) 514-0301.

You can use this accessibility checklist to guide you in trying to make facilities and programs accessible.

Employment Discrimination

If an applicant believes that he or she has been discriminated against due to a disability or believes that the employer is trying to discriminate based on questions asked on the application or during an interview, he or she should contact the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission or the local BOLI office immediately after the incident so that they can investigate the situation and prevent further discrimination.  The EEOC and BOLI Technical Assistance also have a wealth of information on their website regarding discriminatory practices and the laws surrounding them. You can visit their websites at www.oregon.gov/boli/ta and www.eeoc.gov.
